I am relatively new at this VA malarkey and one of the things I struggle with the most is the ‘Virtual’ bit – before all my current clients starting typing ‘How to find a new VA’ into a popular web based search engine, please read on and I will explain…….
The most important aspect about the job is my connection to my clients and their businesses – I have to understand their ‘creative vision’ in order to set up fabulous administrative systems for them! I may be working ‘virtually’ for my clients but my work and my creativity has to have a base, a space to create and to facilitate. Which is what I wanted to introduce to you lovely lot today.
May I present where the magic happens………

It is so important to only work on one project at a time for one client at a time. Otherwise you run the risk of sending the wrong email to the wrong person from the wrong email account. Sounds harmless enough but considering one of my clients is the Burlesque Jems someone might get a bit of a shock if they receive an email confirming their place on a Nipple Tassel workshop unexpectedly! You get my point…..
Between jobs I will always take a short break even if its only to pack away my files, put the kettle on or check what mischief the cat is up to. This allows me to let one part of my brain go dormant before opening up the next box (and corresponding file).
This was a Christmas present from my very clever friend Nicky – it’s me in my Burlesque troop outfit. I am sure you will agree it is far too pretty to be displayed only at Christmas so it sits on my shelf above my desk.

Lots and lots and lots of notebooks and some fancy business books that I have yet to get round to reading.

And finally, this is the notebook I keep at the side of the bed for those lightbulb “I must not forgot how to do that” moments at 4am. Or as was the case this morning, I got up and made brownies.
